The Power of Shoes

A friend saw this and emailed it to me, I love it! I will admit that this has happened to me, well not in the Cinderella sense but lets just say never underestimate the power of a new pair of shoes!!

 Happy  Friday!

Only girl in the world

I love to have fun with fashion and applaud people who do the same! This is probably one of the reasons I am mad about Rihanna, as she likes to flirt hardcore with fashion. You never know what fashion concoction she will step out in next.

Currently in London town on her Diamonds tour (which I've heard was AHHH-MAZING), she has been snapped in lots of yummy outfits. My favourite is this outfit (below). I found my self  gushing big time over the Stella McCartney, sequin backless top!!!! This look is the perfect blend of street style meets high-end glam which Ri Ri does so well.

What do you think of this look?

Currently 'Locked In Closets'

I am currently head-over-heels with the mini music video for 'Locked in Closets', by the oh-so-fabulously-cool Solange Knowles. This is one fun, fashion filled video!

Personal highlights:
  1. In true solange style, this vid is packed with lots and lots of print clashing and mashing the right Solange way.
  2. One I-must-have-now pink lace dress AND a jaw-dropping leopard print jacket with a very yummy pink (faux?) fur collar, which gave me butterflies when I first laid my fashion eye upon it, (yes really!)
  3. A lust worthy HOT pair of metallic pilgram shoes by Alexander Wang.
  4. The crazy cool pink house.

Watch the video your self here http://bcove.me/1lnzeuwc  and let me know what you think? x

Jo Irvine's vintage fashion show

3 weeks ago, I found myself sat in a dark room holding a pretty tea cup in one hand and a bowl of confetti in the other. This room was in the very beautiful Home House, my tea cup was filled with champagne and the confetti; I will come back to that later. I was here for a fashion show, but this wasn't just any fashion show, this was a vintage fashion show by the strikingly gorgeous and very talented Jo Irvine; a bespoke designer from Esher responsible for some of the sparkle numbers seen on Strictly come dancing. Jo had been invited by Karen Smyth  from the home house style society to put on a show. I (like many) was beyond excited as I knew I was about to witness 20-30 mins of pure fabulousness!

Lights,camera, action: the show
The show began with a whole bunch of gorgeous models, dancing down the catwalk to candy man by Christina Aguilera. One by one each model reappeared  looking beautiful in  jaw-dropping dresses! Each dress gave a huge nod to the 40's/ 50's era, with feminine silhouettes, complemented by 40's/50's inspired hair and make up.

Jo talked us through the inspiration and stories behind each bespoke beauty and took questions from members of the audience. I  found my self ooohhing and arring as each frock was even more gorgeous than the next. I wasn't alone as I could  hear comments from people sat behind me that echoed this.

Stylist Karen Smyth also spoke of the great service that she had received from Jo. She was wearing a Jo Irvine design that night; a stand out bright pink dress, teamed with long white gloves and a very chic pair of specs!

A  fitted gold sequin number teamed with a white ruffle top was thrown into the mix which was one of my favourite looks.

The Finale was a delight- a bride and groom walking down the catwalk. We were asked to throw our confetti over the couple which was another great way to interact with the audience.

In all the show was truly fabtastic, and confirmed what I already knew being that  Miss Jo Irvine is one hell of an UH-MAZING designer!!

Life is better in print.

So the sun decided to make an appearance (finally!) this weekend, and I like many were jumping for joy! I have been dying to whip off my opaque tights for weeks but It just hasn't been warm enough. Word is that this sunning spell is set to last all week,YAY! and I plan to flirt with the sun as much as possible as let face it, we do not know how long it will last.

I was super excited that the sun was out in full effect today that I could not decide what the hell  to wear! As time waits  for no fashionista and being a chick who loves to rock a print, I decided to wear a gorgeous printed, dipped hem maxi dress.

For me nothing screams summer is here more than a maxi. I am mad about the print on this dress! I just love how vibrant it is. Plus this dress does not need ironing, I HATE ironing! I decided to 'toughen' up my look with pair of clog, platform boots.

I chose to block out the rays with my latest pair of sunnies from my on-line shop: HOS. I also will have a pair available in white and animal print in a few weeks.

What do you think of my outfit?
